Rules for using Warp It
How to contribute or claim resources
The Warp-It system has been developed to make the transfer of surplus resources between departments simple and easy. The system has been developed after 10 years in the furniture and equipment reuse sector.
Please note that you cannot use Warp-it to dispose of furniture or equipment that is condemned or obsolete - the furniture and equipment must be fit for purpose and safe to use.
Please note also that no orders will be placed for new furniture or equipment unless you have checked to see if there is an available surplus resource available on Warp-it.
Contributing resources
When you enter details of your surplus equipment on the Warp-it website, please describe the items accurately. Where you see a [?] hover over it for guidance.
If someone claims your items(s) they will become responsible for it. Please ensure that if your item is listed on the Trusts Asset Register, the details on the Register are changed.
If the item has a maintenance contract, please advise the Procurement Team when the item is claimed, and ensure the claimant is aware of the maintenance contract and the associated costs.
If the item is a medical device, you must advise Kerry Palmer, LPT's Medical Devices Asset Manager of the transfer. Please note that if your medical device is not the Trusts standard make/model, and is not approved for use by the Medical Devices Asset Manager, it cannot be transferred within LPT, and is classified as obsolete.
You can only transfer equipment that is owned by the Trust. Leased equipment cannot be transferred without the specific agreement of the Transactional Procurement Manager and both your and the claimants Managament Accountants.
Equipment on loan or trial from a supplier must not be transferred within LPT via Warp-it.
Claiming Resources
When claiming items, the claimant takes responsibility for the item, its continued safe use in LPT, and the financial & management responsibility for any maintenance & service costs.
Please note that this does NOT include medical devices , which have centralised maintenance arrangements
It is recommended in all cases that claimants make an appointment to view the products of interest before claiming. It is important that claimants satisfy themselves that the item are functionally acceptable.
Transport costs for the delivery of claimed items are the responsibility of the claimant
Unclaimed Equipment
Unclaimed items can be re-advertised if there is a realistic chance of re-use within LPT
